Resetting your AirPods can be useful if you’re experiencing connectivity issues or if you want to pair them with a new device. Here’s how you can reset your AirPods:
Using Your iPhone or iPad:
- Open Settings:
- Go to the “Settings” app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Bluetooth Settings:
- Scroll down and tap on “Bluetooth”.
- Forget This Device:
- Find your AirPods in the list of devices and tap the “i” icon next to them.
- Tap “Forget This Device” and confirm your choice.
- Place AirPods in the Case:
- Put both of your AirPods in their case and close the lid.
- Open the Lid:
- Open the lid of the AirPods case.
- Press and Hold Button:
- Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case until the status light starts flashing amber.
- Reconnect:
- On your iPhone or iPad, a setup animation should appear. Tap “Connect” to re-pair your AirPods.
Using the AirPods Case Button (Without iPhone):
- Place AirPods in Case:
- Put both of your AirPods in their case and close the lid.
- Open the Lid:
- Open the lid of the AirPods case.
- Press and Hold Button:
- Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case until the status light starts flashing amber.
- Reconnect:
- On your device, go to Bluetooth settings and look for your AirPods. Tap to connect.
Using a Mac:
- Open System Preferences:
- Go to “System Preferences” on your Mac.
- Bluetooth Settings:
- Click on “Bluetooth”.
- Forget This Device:
- Find your AirPods in the list of devices and click the “X” next to them.
- Confirm that you want to forget the device.
- Place AirPods in the Case:
- Put both of your AirPods in their case and close the lid.
- Open the Lid:
- Open the lid of the AirPods case.
- Press and Hold Button:
- Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case until the status light starts flashing amber.
- Reconnect:
- On your Mac, go to Bluetooth settings and look for your AirPods. Click to connect.
Remember, resetting your AirPods will also remove them from any other devices linked to your Apple ID. You’ll need to re-pair them with those devices if you want to use them.
